CSR-Funded Gas Chromatography Project Launched

Anil H. Gore

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new industry-sponsored research project funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Neterwala Group (UTPL, OFI, UDT), worth Rs. 17,04,400/-.

Project Details

  • Title: Gas Chromatography — A Key Tool in Analysis of Emerging Environmental Pollutants, Their Impact on Climate Change, and Creating Social Awareness
  • PI: Dr. Anil H. Gore
  • Co-PI: Dr. Paresh N. Patel
  • Duration: February 2024 – Ongoing
  • Funding: Rs. 17,04,400/-

Objectives

  1. Analytical Method Development — Develop and validate GC/GC-MS based methods for emerging environmental pollutants
  2. Climate Impact Study — Investigate the relationship between pollutant types and their contributions to climate change
  3. Social Awareness — Create outreach programs to educate communities about environmental pollution and its effects

Significance

This project represents an important collaboration between academia and industry, demonstrating how CSR funding can drive meaningful scientific research while addressing pressing environmental challenges. The acquisition of Gas Chromatography infrastructure will significantly enhance our analytical capabilities at UKA Tarsadia University.

This is our second major funded research project, following the successful completion of the DST-SERB Young Scientist project (Rs. 32,67,000/-) during 2016-2019.
